Jung Joon Young, who couldn't attend Joo Hyuk's funeral because he was filming 'Law of the Jungle', gets emotional as he remembers his former co-star whom he dubs 'a cool brother.'

AceShowbiz - "2 Days & 1 Night" aired a special "in memoriam" episode in honor of Kim Joo Hyuk on Sunday, November 5. It featured highlights from Joo Hyuk's appearance as a regular cast member on the show until his last episode. At the end of the episode, "2 Days & 1 Night" cast members recorded their final goodbyes to the late actor.

Kim Jong Min, Kim Joon Ho and Defconn were all tearful as they paid tribute to their former co-star. "We're never going to forget. Gootaeng hyung (Kim Joo Hyuk's nickname on the show), please rest well in a peaceful place," Joon Ho said in his message.

Cha Tae Hyun filmed his video message in front of the Myeongdong Cathedral, which was a special place for Joo Hyuk's parents. "I came here because I wanted to show you this place. In out last filming together, we visited places where we made good memories with you. You mentioned this place, thinking one of us might have come here," Tae Hyun said.

He continued, "This is where you took your composite photograph with your parents [earlier on the show.] I really wanted to show you this place. Of course, you can probably see it better from where you are now, but even I still wanted to show it to you."

Meanwhile, Jung Joon Young said, "You were always someone we looked up to, and someone who we treasured the most. I remember when I was taking a break from '2 Days & 1 Night' last year, I contacted the cast members as soon as I returned to Korea. Kim Joo Hyuk was worried that I was having a difficult time, so he gathered everyone together for me. You came out to see me because you were worried about me. But I can't even go to you right now when you're hurting the most. I'm so sorry. I want to run to you right now."

Joon Young, who couldn't attend Joo Hyuk's funeral because he was filming "Law of the Jungle" on Cook Islands, also posted a farewell message on Instagram. "Our hyung [brother], I greeted him yesterday early in the morning. Please rest in peace Joo Hyuk hyung whom I love. I still can't believe it, but I will try to live thinking of you always smiling and watching over us," he wrote in a caption of a photo showing them sharing a laugh when filming "2 Days & 1 Night".

"Thank you and I love you so much," he added. "There is so much that I want to say but I will tell you when I go visit you in person again. I miss you hyung."

"2 Days & 1 Night" also shared a video that Joo Hyuk recently filmed to congratulate the show on its 10th anniversary. "I hope our members will continue to work hard to make sure '2 Days & 1 Night' never comes to a close. And I always say this, but I miss '2 Days & 1 Night'. I hope the show will continue to do well. I'm always cheering for our members!" he said.
