Gary Goldsmith is cuffed and taken into jail after he allegedly hit his wife during an argument outside their home in London.

AceShowbiz - Kate Middleton's uncle made headlines for the wrong reason. Gary Goldsmith was taken into police custody for allegedly hitting his wife Julie-Ann. According to The Sun, the incident happened after the couple attended a charity auction in Portman Square, Marylebone.

According to a cabbie who drove them, the younger brother of Kate's mother Carole flipped out and called his wife "wh**e" after she accused him of doing cocaine. The witness claimed that the 52-year-old businessman socked his wife in the eye during the heated argument.

Julie-Anne, 47, allegedly fell and hit her head on the ground during the scuffle outside their London home. The cab driver said that Goldsmith threatened to "report" him when he called police. Goldsmith reportedly picked up his wife and tried to carry her into the house but police had already arrived. She was taken to hospital by ambulance to get treated and then discharged. "She seemed to have a black eye coming on," the witness said.

"There were two police officers to begin with but they called for reinforcements and a van came. There were six coppers in the end and three paramedics," he claimed. "The police knocked on the door of the house. He came to the door and the police asked me to confirm it was him. They then went inside and took him out soon afterwards in handcuffs. They put him in the back of a van and drove him off."

"Gary Goldsmith, 52, from Wimpole St., London was charged on Friday with assault by beating," London police confirmed. "This relates to an incident at the same address in the early hours on the same date. He was bailed to appear at Westminster magistrates court on October 31."

Kensington Palace refused to comment on the arrest of Middleton's black sheep uncle. Hours before having a row, the couple took a selfie at the fundraiser. He posted the picture on his Twitter. "That's holiday sorted for @cheechkeela & I," so he wrote.

Gary Goldsmith had history with scandal in the past. Back in 2009, he was pictured cutting up cocaine. He also bragged about his royal connections to undercover reporters.
