The 'Malibu' singer gets emotional as she thanks the former presidential candidate in the show's 'Thank You Notes' segment.

AceShowbiz - Jimmy Fallon welcomed Hillary Clinton as one of his guests on "The Tonight Show" on Wednesday night, October 4. While the former Secretary of State was there, the comedian wanted to dedicate a "Thank You Notes" segment to her, but with a twist.

Instead of him, Fallon invited young female staff writers who have been supporting the former Democratic presidential nominee to take turn sitting at his desk and writing cards of praise thanking Clinton. They used the opportunity to thank her for being a strong female figure despite her cards of praise thanking and some of them took jabs at President Donald Trump.

Last but not least, Fallon let Miley Cyrus express her gratitude to her political hero, Clinton. The former Disney darling got emotional as she wrote her card. "Thank you Hillary for being a constant beacon of strength, hope, and determination for me and millions of other young women," she said as her voice began to waver. "You've been a role model and an inspiration and a voice of reason in uncertain times. I could go on and on, but I'd like to get right to the point."

She then asked if she could give Clinton a hug. They shared an embrace and Cyrus was seen wiping tears from her cheek.

Clinton also wrote a thank you note. "Thank you, Miley, the 'Tonight Show' writers, and all of the women and young girls out there. You are smart, strong, and deserving of every opportunity," she said, "Together, we've made our voices heard, we've done great things, and we've come a long way. But as Miley would say, we can't stop, and we won't stop."

Cyrus, who kicked off her weeklong "Miley Week" on the late-night talk show on Monday, also took to Instagram to share pictures from her meeting with Clinton. "I got my hug!!!! @hillaryclinton today was one I will never forget ..... you are endlessly inspiring , & I hope you know how loved / appreciated you truly are .... I will never stop speaking up against injustice , fighting for equality , and using my platform to spread peace & love! I've learned from the very best .... You. [heart emojis] @fallontonight made my dreams come true!" she wrote in the caption.
