AceShowbiz - Gal Gadot makes a heroic entrance in a newly-released promo for "Saturday Night Live". The "Wonder Woman" star will be hosting the October 7 episode of the hit NBC comedy show with Sam Smith as the musical guest. But first of all, maybe we should get to know how her name is actually pronounced.
The 10-second video opens with "SNL" stars Leslie Jones, Mikey Day and Beck Bennet waiting for Gadot's arrival around the craft services table for this week's guest house. "When will Gal Gadot get here?" Jones asks, pronouncing the "Justice League" actress name as Gail Ga-doe.
"Do you think she's anything like Wonder Woman in real life?" Bennet asks his castmates, before Gadot comes bursting through the familiar "SNL" back wall while striking her signature Wonder Woman pose. "Hey guys!" the 32-year-old actress greets as Bennet is flown across the room.
"Gal Gadot, you cannot do that!" yells Leslie, this time she pronounces the name Gail Guh-dot. "It's Gal Gadot," murmurs Day, to which Jones responds, "Shut up, Marky!"
It marks Gadot's first time hosting the show. The gig came after she starred in her latest movie "Wonder Woman", in which she portrays Princess Diana of the Amazons a.k.a. Wonder Woman. The critically-acclaimed flick based on DC Comics' character earned more than $820 million worldwide while earning $400 million at domestic market.
Meanwhile, it will be Smith's second visit to the long-running show. Smith recently dropped a new single titled "Too Good at Goodbyes", coming off his upcoming second studio album.
The following episode will be hosted by Kumail Nanjiani ("Silicon Valley"), who is also making his debut on the show. Pink, who is set to release her upcoming seventh studio effort "Beautiful Trauma" on October 13, will serve as the musical guest.
