The 'Pillowtalk' hitmaker surprised fans as he shared on social media a thank-you clip that seemingly hinted at new music.

AceShowbiz - Zayn Malik didn't attend this year's MTV Video Music Awards, but he managed to nab one award for his collaboration with Taylor Swift, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever". The British heartthrob won Best Collaboration Award for the track, marking his first Moon Person as a solo artist. As a gratitude, the British heartthrob took to social media to thank the show, his collaborator and his fans with a video.

Unexpectedly, Zayn showed us a glimpse of his new project by the end of the clip, and Zquads were beyond thrilled. The cryptic teaser found Zayn opening a briefcase before the words "Coming Soon" popped up onscreen. The scene was seemingly taken from the singer's new music video.

Fans soon expressed their excitement in the comment section. "First I was like awww now I am f**king shook I AM SO READY," a fan wrote, while another noted, "He's win and Z2 is comin". Similarly, another excited fan remarked, "I love you Zayn but I hate you with love when you are teasing us with new stuff."

It's been a year since Zayn released his debut solo album "Mind of Mine". After overcoming his anxiety issue, it looks like he is finally ready to unleash new music. "I feel like my songwriting definitely developed, just because I've been doing it so much," he recently said. "I feel like the songs are a bit more organized, where I felt like, before, that 'Mind of Mine' was a brainstorm."

Dubbed an "evolution", the new album is expected to arrive later this year. "That's why I called it 'Mind of Mine', because it was ideas that I had to put out. This one is more thought out," he added. "I had more time to process everything and go through it all. It's an evolution."

The 24-year-old heartthrob also confirmed record producer Malay's involvement on the upcoming project. "There's a couple of songs on the record that I've done with Malay that for me, personally, I'm really proud of," he explained. "I just feel like there's something really classic about some of the music that we've done together, and for that reason, I'm really proud of some of the songs that are going to come out. I feel like it really shows me as a songwriter and a vocalist."
