Before announcing who would advance to the semifinals, host Tyra Banks named Eric Jones, Evie Claire and The Masqueraders as the three acts who were up for the Dunkin' Save.
After the rough quarterfinals which saw 2 acts facing technical difficulties, the 12 performers would learn the results of the overnight votes in the Wednesday, August 23 episode of "America's Got Talent" season 12. Seven of them would advance to the semifinals and join the previously announced seven semifinalists, while five of them would be eliminated.

Before announcing who would advance, host Tyra Banks named three acts whose fates were relied on the Dunkin' Save. The acts who were up for the Dunkin' Save were Eric Jones, Evie Claire and The Masqueraders. Tyra proceeded by calling both Brobots & Mandroids and Light Balance to the front of the stage and later named the latter to be one of the semifinalists. Brobots and Mandroids unfortunately was sent home.

Joining the Ukrainian dance crew in semifinals was deaf-singer Mandy Harvey, while the Pompeo Family was eliminated. Before moving forward with the results, Circus 1903 took the stage to perform several amazing circus tricks, much to audience's amazement.

The results came as no surprise since Demian faced a technical problem with the box he used in his performance last night.

Left in jeopardy were Merrick Hanna, Mirror Image and Celine Tam. Tyra first congratulated Celine as the young singer would not be going home that night. Meanwhile, Merrick and Mirror Image were both nervous to hear their results. Merrick would move to the next round of competition, while the twins were eliminated.

Eric, Evie and The Masqueraders were facing against each other for two remaining spots for the semifinals in the Dunkin's Save. America decided to save Evie, while judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, Melanie Brown a.k.a. Mel B and Heidi Klum would determine whether it was Eric or The Masqueraders who would be sent home. Howie and Mel voted for Eric, while Simon and Heidi wanted to see more of The Masqueraders. As Eric received more audience overnight votes, he was announced as the winner and joined Evie and other semifinalists.
