The Merc with a Mouth depicter has released a statement offering condolences to the family of the stuntwoman who died during a motorcycle stunt when filming in Vancouver on Monday.

AceShowbiz - A stuntwoman was killed on "Deadpool 2" set in Vancouver following a tragic accident on Monday, August 14. The stunt driver, identified as pro motorcycle racer Joi "SJ" Harris, died during a motorcycle stunt, TMZ confirmed.

Harris, who was said to be the stunt double for Domino depicter Zazie Beetz, reportedly went airborne during filming. According to the news outlet, her bike crashed through the glass of a ground-floor studio inside Shaw Tower near Jack Poole Plaza.

Officers responded to the scene of the accident earlier in the day, along with officers from WorkSafeBC. Harris was pulled from the crash site and taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police taped off the area, and an investigation is ongoing.

SAG-AFTRA promised to launch its own investigation, saying in a statement, "The safety of our members and other production professionals on set is a core concern and top priority for SAG-AFTRA. Accordingly, we are sending a field representative to Vancouver and are investigating the incident."

In a statement, a spokesperson for 20th Century Fox said, "We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of 'Deadpool 2' this morning. Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time."

Offering his condolences to Harris' family, Ryan Reynolds tweeted about the tragedy, "Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming 'Deadpool'. We're heartbroken, shocked and devastated... but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them -- along with each and every person she touched in this world."
