Joel and Ethan Coen are heading to Netflix with their first TV project, a Western anthology titled "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs". Produced by Annapurna Television, the project will feature six tales about American frontier, with each chapter following a different story about the American West.

"The Coens are visionary directors, masterful storytellers, and colorful linguists. We are thrilled for Netflix to become home to the full range of their talents," Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix, says.

"We are streaming motherf**ers!" the Coen brothers say in a joint statement. The Coens will write and direct the series. They also serve as executive producer alongside Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle from Annapurna Television and longtime collaborator Robert Graf.

The Coen Brothers are definitely no strangers to the genre as they have "True Grit" and "No Country for Old Men" among their long credits. Sources previously said that the project seemed too challenging to be covered in one feature film, thus they opted for a miniseries instead of a movie.

"The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" will reteam the brothers with Tim Blake Nelson, who previously starred in "O Brother, Where Art Thou". "The Incredible Hulk" actor will portray the titular character, Buster Scruggs.
