These stars are incredibly popular, but they miraculously managed to keep their relationships secret for years before getting caught by reporters or announcing their wedding.

AceShowbiz - In South Korea, there is a "rule" that forbids celebrities to date. Celebrities, especially the female ones, always receive backlash from the public if they're caught having a girlfriend or boyfriend. For male celebrities, having girlfriends can put an end to their popularity because fans never like it when they date. This causes them to try to keep their relationships secret, but most of them always get caught by reporters. However, these insanely popular celebrities somehow managed to hide their relationships from public for years.

2AM's Jinwoon and Yenny

Jinwoon of 2AM and former Wonder Girls member Yenny a.k.a. HA:TFELT were close friends before they started dating in 2014. Their love for music was said to be the reason behind their chemistry, and their agencies dubbed them "musician couple" when they made Jinwoon and Yenny's relationship public in 2016.

Although the public actually approved of their relationship, the pair called it quits in April. Their agencies refused to reveal why they broke up because "it is their private lives." However, a source close to the former couple revealed, "The couple who have broken up after dating for four years didn't have a particular reason [for breaking up]. They naturally became distant."

Girls' Generation's Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho

Sooyoung of Girls' Generation and Jung Kyung Ho managed to keep their relationship secret for almost two years before going public in 2014. The two were church buddies before starting to date in September 2012. Since then, the couple has been going on dates publicly.

Kyung Ho revealed that they decided to reveal their relationship because he asked her to. "I believed there's no fault in dating," he stated. "I thought it was better to fairly reveal our relationship, but it resulted in a lot of uncomfortable [situations] for Sooyoung. I felt sorry."

Although they have been dating for almost five years, the "Missing 9" star said that they have no plans to tie the knot yet. "I want to see her fulfilling her career. I think we can get married after that," Kyung Ho said.

Lee Joon Gi and Jeon Hye Bin

After starring in "Gunman in Joseon" in 2013, Lee Joon Gi and Jeon Hye Bin's friendship evolved into romance. They started dating in 2014, but decided to hide their relationship after photos of them going on dates surfaced in April.

Their relationship caused a controversy because Joon Gi was a cast member on "My Ear's Candy", a show on which celebrities are paired with each other in order to build chemistry which hopefully will turn into romance. Fans questioned his sincerity toward his partner on the show, leading the "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" star to apologize. "I feel a tremendous amount of responsibility in terms of my appearance on the variety program. I would like to sincerely apologize to all the fans and viewers who showed much love and support," he said in a statement.

Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo

"Descendants of the Sun" co-stars Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo didn't have to hide their relationship since everyone wanted them to date in real life, but they still chose to date privately. After the drama aired in 2016, the two were rumored to be dating due to their amazing on-screen chemistry. They always denied the rumors, but shocked everyone when they announced that they would be getting married in October after two years of dating.

In a recent interview, Joong Ki revealed why he decided to announce his wedding sooner than his initial plan. "I wanted to announce it after the premiere of 'The Battleship Island', but things don't work out the way you want them to. After thinking about it for a while, I told Song Hye Kyo that we should announce it," he shared. "There were many groundless rumors about Song Hye Kyo and me, and we were upset about that. That's why we decided to reveal it sooner."

Big Bang's Taeyang and Min Hyo Rin

Taeyang of Big Bang broke the hearts of VIPs around the world when he confirmed his relationship with Min Hyo Rin in 2015. The two have been dating since 2013, and Hyo Rin was featured in Taeyang's music video for "1AM" which was released in 2014.

The "I Need a Girl" singer recently revealed that the "Sunny" star inspired him to write "Eyes, Nose, Lips." "It's a story based on my own life. There have been a lot of rumors that it's a song about someone else, but it's really a song that came out when I met Min Hyo Rin," he shared during an appearance on "Radio Star" last year.

Shinhwa's Eric Mun and Na Hye Mi

Eric Mun of Shinhwa and Na Hye Mi had been dating for five years before finally confirming their relationship. The two were reported to be dating in 2014, but both of them denied it. Eric was later rumored to be dating his "Another Oh Hae Young" co-star Seo Hyun Jin, but he denied it as well.

In April, photos of them together surfaced online, leading the couple to eventually admit that they're dating. Shortly after making their relationship public, Eric announced that he and the "My Sassy Girl" actress would tie the knot in July.

The "Wild Eyes" hitmaker detailed their relationship in a letter he wrote to his fans. "I've been with Na Hye Mi for almost five years," he revealed. "We broke up and got back together a lot. When the first dating rumor spread, we weren't dating. To protect each other, we said we were a senior and junior instead of old lovers." Eric went on saying, "Thanks so much for those who cheered and worried for me for all this time. 20 years of achievements are important, but let's work together for Shinhwa to last for years to come."
