AceShowbiz - The long-gestating "Cowboy Bebop" movie is seemingly dead. Instead of heading to the big screen like it was initially planned, the seminal anime series about the adventure of space-based bounty hunters is getting a TV adaptation instead.
According to Variety, Chris Yost is writing the script for the project. Yost's movie credits include "Thor: The Dark World" and "Thor: Ragnarok". He's also the scribe behind animated series like "The Batman", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes", and "Wolverine and the X-Men".
"Cowboy Bebop" movie has been development way back since 2008. Keanu Reeves was initially attached to play the lead role of Spike Spiegel. The TV version will follow an upcoming manga adaptation "Death Note" which landed at Netflix. The Nat Wolff-starring series was, unfortunately, slammed for white-washing.
