LCD Soundsystem served as a musical guest on "Saturday Night Live". The band delivered two songs, "American Dream" and "Call the Police". Both are taken from their upcoming studio album which is expected to be released later this year.

During the promo for the May 6 episode, "SNL" also did a sketch of LCD Soundsystem's music video. It starred host Chris Pine and the show's cast member Kate McKinnon. They busted out their moves, using props on the set of the band's 2010 "Dance Yrself Clean" video.

It was the first time the James Murphy-fronted band performed on the NBC sketch show. It also marked Chris Pine's debut as a host on the show although he once made a cameo on "Weekend Update" with "Star Trek" co-star Zachary Quinto.
