Janet Jackson's separation from Wissam Al Mana will likely have a huge financial implication. The couple, who is reported splitting after five years of marriage and three months after welcoming their first child together, is believed to have a prenuptial agreement.
While both of them are wealthy, Wissam is reportedly worth far more than the 50-year-old pop star. According to TMZ, Janet is worth an estimated $175 million, while the Qatari businessman has an estimated net worth of $1 billion.
Of course, how long they have been married would factor in determining how much Janet will get from her estranged husband. The fact that they now share a kid will likely also add numbers to the sum that the "Together Again" singer will get.
As reported earlier, Janet and Wissam broke up only three months after she gave birth to their first child, a baby boy named Eissa. "She thought he had become too controlling during the pregnancy and she had already allowed him to dictate her appearance and even the way she performed at concerts," a source said of what caused the separation.
The final straw was reportedly when Wissam didn't show much concern for her mother Katherine Jackson's alleged abuse at the hands of her nephew Trent. "That's when Janet made her decision that there was no turning back. She was worried about her mother - and Wissam showed little to no concern," another source claimed.
Janet and Wissam have not responded to the reports, though.
