The 'Your Body Is a Wonderland' hitmaker is seemingly sending his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry messages on the Chad Franscoviak-produced ballad.

AceShowbiz - John Mayer knows how to spill his heart and soul into his music. The 39-year-old musician has released "The Search for Everything: Wave Two" EP, which features 4 new songs including a romantic ballad titled "Still Feel Like Your Man".

Mayer is seemingly sending his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry messages on the new song, since it talks about a man who can't get over his ex even when he has already moved on. "I still feel, I still feel, I still feel like your man/ The prettiest girl in the room, she wants me/ I know because she told me so/ She says come over, I'd like to get to know you," he sings.

Elsewhere on the song, Mayer admits he still keeps things his ex left at his house, singing, "I still keep your shampoo in my shower/ In case you wanna wash your hair/ And I know that you probably found yourself someone somewhere/ But I do not really care, cause as long as it is there/ I still feel like your man."

"This is my little engine that could," Mayer says of the groovy song. He tells Rolling Stone that he spent more hours working on revising and improving the song than any songs he's ever recorded. Along with co-producer Chad Franscoviak, he deconstructed and reconstructed the song so many times over the past few years to make it "really punch but also really freaky."

This is not the first song Mayer has written about his ex-lovers. His smash single "Your Body Is a Wonderland" was rumored to be about his ex Jennifer Love Hewitt, while he penned "Paper Doll" as a response to Taylor Swift's 2010 breakup ballad "Dear John".

In addition to "Still Feel Like Your Man", "The Search for Everything: Wave Two" features "Helpless", "Roll It on Home" and "Emoji of a Wave". The latter of which is an orchestrated folk tune that features lush vocal harmonies and includes backing vocals from Beach Boy Al Jardine and his son Matt.

Along with the EP's release, Mayer announced the North American summer leg of his "The Search for Everything" tour on Friday, February 24. The 32-date trek will feature Mayer performing on three unique sets including solo acoustic, fronting a full band and perform with John Mayer Trio. The summer tour kicks off on July 18 in Albuquerque and wraps up on September 3 in Noblesville, Indiana.
