During a Cambodian trip, the 'Maleficent' star and her kids serve BBC such an adventurous dish, several creepy crawlies fries.

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie indeed loves Cambodia as well as its culture. In a video posted by BBC World News on its Twitter account on Monday, February 20, the actress and her kids casually served BBC's reporter Yalda Hakim a local yet adventurous dish you would never imagine.

In the video, the 41-year-old beauty was seen teaching her twins, Knox and Vivienne, how to cook spider. She explained, "See the hard part where you have teeth? Take the fangs out." When asked if she had done this before, the actress responded, "Yeah. I think it's always been a part of the diet, the bugs, but then I think there is a truth to the survival during the war of course." She went on explaining that when people were starved during the war, they were able to survive by eating bugs.

Jolie revealed that she had been familiar with eating insects as she had crickets when she first visited Cambodia. "Crickets, you start with crickets. Crickets and beer," she said, laughing. She added, "And then you kind of move up to tarantulas."

After she's done cooking, Angelina, her kids and Hakim decided to taste the intimidating-looking food. When she took a bite of a fried tarantula, she shared, "It's actually really good, the flavor." Reporter Yalda Hakim also took a courageous bite of the crawling bugs. The flavor was so tasty, much to her surprise. "Nice. I can see why you're into this," she said to the actress.

As for the scorpion, Jolie shared that it was hard to chew. When the kids asked about how the insects tasted, Knox promptly said it was like "dry chips." He then added, "Yeah, like flavorless chips." The short video concluded with the actress posing with a plate of fried bugs as she said with a smile, "Many surprises."

In the interview with BBC World News, Jolie also addressed her bitter split with "Allied" actor Brad Pitt. She said that although it had been a difficult time for her family, she ensured they would always be a family. Jolie said, "I don't want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time." She continued, "And we are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it."
