Katy Perry's highly anticipated single is finally here. Titled "Chained to the Rhythm", the mid-tempo song was released on late Thursday, February 9. As previously reported, the song features Bob Marley's grandson Skip Marley and was produced by Max Martin.

Co-written by Perry, Sia Furler, Ali Payami and Marley, the reggae-inspired dance track is built on slightly-tweaked '80s keys. In her first verse, Perry gives ideas of selfish comfortability, singing, "Living our lives through a lens/ Trapped in our white-picket fence/ Like ornaments/ So comfortable, we live in a bubble, a bubble/ So comfortable, we cannot see the trouble, the trouble."

Elsewhere on the song, Marley gets political in his verse. He sings, "Ay, up in your high place, liars/ Time is ticking for the empire/ The truth they feed is feeble/ As so many times before/ They greed over the people."

The new track comes with accompanying lyric video. Directed by Aya Tanimura, the clip sees a pair of hands making a meal for a hamster in a miniaturized kitchen.

Prior to releasing the song, Perry and her team had placed chained disco balls around the world that allowed fans to listen to her new single. Perry's recording label, Capitol Records, has confirmed that the singer will perform "Chained to the Rhythm" along with Marley live at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, which is set to take place on Sunday, February 12 at Los Angeles' Staples Center.
