Paramount Pictures has just released a new "Ghost in the Shell" sneak-peek. The 15-second video is titled "Digital Mind" and offers a brief look at Scarlett Johansson's character in the movie. The text "They didn't save your life, they stole it" hints at her character's background.

An new international poster has also been released, showing Johansson, Pilou Asbaek and Daisuke Aramaki's characters. An impressive red background of a city is also featured in the poster.

"Ghost in the Shell" is based on Masamune Shirow's manga and classic cyberpunk anime of the same name. Set in mid-21st century in fictional Niihama or New Port City, it centers on Major Motoko Kusanagi (Johansson), a cyborg and master hacker who leads elite task force Public Section 9. The Major's team is working for Hanka Robotics and in charge of stopping dangerous criminals and extremist. Their prime target is a terrorist called The Laughing Man.

Asbaek will play Batou, The Major's trusted lieutenant. Michael Pitt is portraying The Laughing Man. Juliette Binoche, Takeshi Kitano and Kaori Momoi are also starring in the movie.

Despite criticism that "Ghost in the Shell" should feature Japanese actress, director Rupert Sanders explained that Johansson is the best actress to portray The Major. "There are very few actresses with 20 years' experience who have the cyberpunk ethic already baked in," he said. "I stand by my decision-she's the best actress of her generation."

"Ghost in the Shell" is set to hit U.S. theaters on March 31.
