Series creator Ryan Murphy dishes on the crossover season that he has planned for a while, teasing how it will connect 'Murder House' with 'Coven'.

AceShowbiz - While we're waiting for "American Horror Story" season 7, series creator Ryan Murphy is teasing the crossover season that will air sometime later. The writer/executive producer shares more details of the season that will feature characters from "Murder House" and characters from "Coven" together.

"It's a character from season 1 that will be thrust into the world that you are left with at the end of 'Coven', which is sort of like the male/female/witch academy," Murphy says of the future season in an interview with EW. "And then all of those characters will intertwine, which is confusing because some of them are from seasons 1 and 3. Like, Sarah Paulson will probably be playing 18 characters."

Murphy previously described the crossover season as "very bizarre," "fun" and "weird." He also said that it wouldn't be the theme of the show's seventh season.

The seventh season, which is expected to air later this year, will be "a modern-day story," Murphy said at the TCA winter press tour earlier this month. He additionally revealed the first two actors returning for the new installment, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.

FX has renewed the horror anthology series for season 8 and 9.
