Martin Scorsese Confirms He Killed Off Frank Sinatra Biopic
Movie

The 'Wolf of Wall Street' director reveals that he is forced to cancel the project because the Sinatra estate 'won't agree to it.'

Martin Scorsese's Frank Sinatra biopic has been scrapped. The director explains that he called off the project because he didn't see eye to eye with the late singer's family. "We can't do it!" he said. "I think it is finally over. They (remaining members of the Sinatra clan) won't agree to it. Open it up again and I'm there!"

"Certain things are very difficult for a family, and I totally understand. But, if they expect me to be doing it, they can't hold back certain things. The problem is that the man was so complex. Everybody is so complex - but Sinatra in particular," Scorsese said in an interview with Toronto Sun.

The director originally worked on the biopic with Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Chabon. The author said in November, "I was working on a Frank Sinatra project for a while, and I read Tina Sinatra's memoir of her father. She called him 'Daddy'. It would've been so cool. Scorsese was going to direct it, and I wrote the script."
