Series creator Julie Plec reveals that there would be another 'terrible' and 'painful' death following Tyler Lockwood's death on the supernatural drama.

AceShowbiz - "The Vampire Diaries" fans might still be grieving over the death of Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) in the fourth episode of season 8. But he wasn't the last person to be killed off on the series.

Series co-creator Julie Plec revealed that there would be another death that would be both "terrible" and "painful." However, she didn't give further details about who or how it would be.

Julie also talked about how Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) is going to be increasingly violent in future episodes after the ripper part of his brain has been turned on. "Stefan's never been good with temptation while in ripper mode," she told TVLine.

"We know from past experience that Stefan has a threshold and it will be Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) job to monitor his brother and make sure he stays on the good side of that threshold. If he crosses it, there's a risk of losing him forever," Julie added.

Ian and Paul previously said that both characters should die in the end. "I really think [Stefan] should take off his ring and die with Damon," Paul told TVGuide about his idea on how the show should end.

"Just sit on a beach all night drinking Caribbean rum and when the sun comes up, [share] one last toast, give each other a hug, take off their rings and throw them into the water," Ian added.

Explaining why the Salvatores should die in the series finale, Ian said, "It would be a really great thing for Damon and Stefan to know that they can no longer cause any more harm to anyone."

The eighth episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 titled "We Have History Together" will air on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 8 P.M. ET on The CW.
