A fan's mom sued the 'What Do You Mean?' hitmaker for breach of contract, violating Florida's Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and negligent misinterpretation.

AceShowbiz - Canadian singer Justin Bieber must pay a fan's mom thousand of dollars after canceling meet and greets for his "Purpose World Tour" earlier this year. In August, Melissa Matthai sued the singer for not meeting her daughter at a July concert in Miami.
According to the paperwork, Matthai paid $1,856.35 for her and daughter Gabriela to see Bieber's concert. The tickets included $200 floor seats, while the rest was for the meet and greet. Even though the tour company promised refunds, Matthai still sued the singer for breach of contract, violating Florida's Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and negligent misrepresentation. As a result, a judge in Florida awarded her $5,298.75 for her lawsuit. The amount included the price of the tickets plus $3,240 in legal fees and court costs.
According to records provided by Gossip Extra, the 22-year-old pop singer didn't even hire a lawyer to represent him and never showed up to contest the allegations. Even though Matthai was awarded more than $5,000, it didn't necessarily mean the judge agreed with the case.
In March, Bieber canceled meet and greets for the duration of his "Purpose World Tour". He took to Instagram to make the announcement as he wrote, "Love u guys.. I'm going to be canceling my meet and greets." He continued, "Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression."
