The 'Avatar' actress will play a villainous character on the next Marvel-Netflix series, but details of her role have been kept under wraps.

New photos from the set of "Marvel's The Defenders" have landed online, this time giving the first look at Sigourney Weaver who has been reported to play a villain on the show. While the images are expected to shed lights on her character, they show nothing but a well-dressed lady who is sitting down on a dinner with another character.
The superhero team-up series will feature Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, who will join forces to face a common enemy.
Other familiar faces supporting the new series are Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Eka Darville as Malcolm, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Elodie Yung as Elektra, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, and Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker.
Jon Bernthal will reportedly reprise his role as The Punisher for "The Defenders", but it's not confirmed yet. The new series is expected to be released sometime in 2017 as filming is currently underway.
