Chris Evans' "Jekyll (2018)" is moving forward by finding its helmer. According to Deadline, Lionsgate has nabbed "Zombieland" helmer Ruben Fleischer to direct Evans in the upcoming movie which will be based on the 2007 BBC series of the same name.

Anthony Bagarozzi ("The Nice Guys") and Charles Mondry ("Death Note") have written the script based on the Steven Moffat-scripted six-episode miniseries, with Evans playing Tom Jackman, the only living descendant of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman will produce the film through their A Very Good Production banner.

Fleischer is currently serving as a producer on Brie Larson's directorial debut, "Unicorn Store". He is also in pre-production stage for "Zombieland 2", with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returning as screenwriters. Emma Stone and Woody Harrelson are expected to reprise their roles as Wichita and Tallahassee respectively.

Meanwhile, Evans is best known for his role as Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America in the MCU films, including "The Avengers" and "Captain America: Civil War". He can next be seen in Marc Webb's "Gifted" alongside Jenny Slate, which is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on April 12, 2017.
