The 'Homeland' actor is joining the all-female driven reboot of 'Ocean's Eight' to antagonize the title characters, which will be led by Sandra Bullock.

AceShowbiz - "Ocean's Eight" has found its villain in Damian Lewis. According to Variety, the "Homeland" actor is joining the cast to antagonize the title characters to be played by Oscar-winning actresses Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway among others.

Lewis is set to play the ex-lover of Bullock's character and the target of her crew's robbery in the all-female driven reboot of "Ocean's Eleven". Though his casting news has just now been confirmed, the Golden Globe winner was reported to have been spotted on the New York filming set back in October.

Directed by Gary Ross, the movie will arrive in U.S. theaters on June 8, 2018. Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna and Awkwafina round up the team of the titular thieves. Matt Damon, one of the cast members in the original "Ocean's Eleven" trilogy, is expected to make a cameo appearance.

Lewis was last seen in the big screen in thriller "Our Kind of Traitor" opposite Stellan Skarsgard. The "Homeland" alum recently wrapped production on the second season of Showtime's drama "Billions", which will premiere on February 19.
