FX has ordered a pilot for "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off that focuses on the Hispanic biker gang which was led by Emilio Rivera's Marcus Alvarez on the original show. Titled "Mayans MC", the project is directed by "SOA" creator Kurt Sutter from a script that he co-wrote with Elgin James.

The new show is set to take place after the death of Charlie Hunnam's Jax Teller who ran the "SOA" biker group, SAMCRO. Jax's group originally saw The Mayan as a rival, but the two gangs eventually worked together as partners.

Scheduled to kick off production in March, the spin-off will follow EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali-Mexi border, as he struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel and his need for respect from the women he loves.
