As "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is hitting theaters very soon, fans are wondering if Lucasfilm has a plan to do a follow-up. And now the studio president, Kathleen Kennedy, has opened up about whether or not the upcoming "Star Wars" spin-off starring Felicity Jones has a potential sequel.

Unfortunately, Kennedy made it crystal clear in a recent interview with Empire Magazine (via /Film) that there wouldn't be any sequel for "Rogue One" which she jokingly referred to as "Rogue Two". Therefore, the story of Jyn Erso (Jones) stealing the plans for the Death Star would be done in "Rogue One".

Visual effects artist John Knoll stated that the movie was always intended to be a self-contained film, as the movie itself would serve as a prequel to the original trilogy. Director Gareth Edwards joked if there was a "Rogue One" sequel, "that sequel [would] be directed by George Lucas" because it would be "A New Hope".

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is coming to U.S. theaters on December 21. It follows Jyn Erso, a Rebellion soldier who is set off on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. With the aid of the Rebels, a master swordsman and non-allied forces, Jyn will be in for something bigger than she thinks.

The much-awaited "Star Wars" stand-alone movie also stars Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Alan Tudyk, Mads Mikkelsen, Jimmy Smits Genevieve O'Reilly, Ben Mendelsohn and James Earle Jones.
