Drake didn't show up for a gig that he was paid £200,000 for. The "Hotline Bling" hitmaker had reportedly been paid in advance to perform at pop-up nightclub VIP ROOM in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night, November 26.
A representative for VIP ROOM told Mirror Celeb, "Due to Drake's overwhelming popularity the sheer number of people that turned up outside of VIP Room made it completely unsafe for Drake to even enter the venue in the end so he was unable to perform."
However, a source told the publication that Drake's appearance was canceled for other reasons.
"His management had an argument with the management of Abu Dhabi pop-up nightclub VIP ROOM last night and he didn't turn up for an appearance that he'd been paid £200k for," said a source. "Drake is due to perform at the club again tonight, but it's not unknown if he will turn up. Fans waited until 5 a.m. for him and he never showed up."
In consequence of Drake's absence, DJ Bliss was forced to play all night. There are still no comments yet from Drake's representatives.
Back in October, the 30-year-old rapper was forced to cancel three shows from his "Summer Sixteen Tour" due to ankle injury. Previously in 2013, the "Started from the Bottom" hitmaker had to face a lawsuit from concert promoters over axed Chicago concerts.
