AceShowbiz - Katy Perry cancels her scheduled performance in China hot on heels of Donald Trump's victory at the November 8 election. She was supposed to kick off Singles Day, a 24-hour shopping blitz hosted by tech giant Alibaba.
The singer was named Alibaba's "global ambassador" in October. She was expected to appear at the company's event alongside former NBA star Kobe Bryant and Ryan Tedder's band OneRepublic.
"Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance ... due to a family emergency. I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon," Katy wrote on Chinese social media platform Weibo.
Katy Perry, who is a huge Hillary Clinton supporter, had a meltdown on Twitter after the Democratic candidate lost the election. "Gonna cry my false eye lashes off tonight," she wrote. "Do not sit still. Do not weep. MOVE. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us."
