If Tiger Woods could turn back the hands of time, he might still be cheating on his ex-wife Elin Nordegren. The professional golfer recently sat down with Charlie Rose for an hour-long interview, during which he was asked the one thing that he wished he could've changed.

"The only regret I have in life is not spending another year at Stanford [University]," he answered. "I wish I would've had one more year." Seemingly expecting another answer, Rose asked Woods again, "That's the only regret? Of all the things that happened to you?"

The 40-year-old athlete stuck to his answer, though he acknowledged that his divorce from Nordegren was "rough to go through." "All the things I've been through, yes. They've been tough, but they've been great for me," he said, "But I wish I would've gone one more year at Standford."

Woods, however, admitted that he "made mistakes." He revealed how he explained the divorce to their children, 9-year-old Sam and 7-year-old Charlie, "I've said, 'everybody makes mistakes, and the reason why mommy's living in her house and daddy's living in his house is because daddy made mistakes, and it's okay.' "

Woods and Nordegren have since maintained good relationship. When stopping by "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert", he was asked how he could be best friends with his ex-wife. "It becomes two simple things, OK? We have Sam and we have Charlie. And we love them so much that we are going to whatever it takes to make that work. That's how it happened," he said.

He added, "She's been one of my best friends and I've talked to her about so many different things and she does the same thing with me back and forth. We communicate so much better now, it's incredible. I wish we would have done that earlier on, but it's been incredible to have a best friend like that."
