Just hours after the reveal of the official title along with the first poster of the third "Wolverine" movie, a new report has emerged suggesting the possible plot details of the Hugh Jackman-led movie. TheWrap has offered new information regarding the futuristic and dark elements in James Mangold's "Logan".

While the first poster of the film shows the scars on Wolverine's arm and a tiny yet long hand gripping his, offering a few intriguing clues about the plot, the site claims that the movie will be set in the year 2024. Additionally, "Logan" will be much darker than any other "Wolverine" or "X-Men" movies.

According to sources, [SPOILER ALERT!] the final Wolverine solo film, which will reportedly be based on "Old Man Logan" comic book series, will see the clawed mutant in a rough shape. The beloved hero is sick and said to drink a lot. His powers are fading and he heals much slower than he did in the past. Sometimes he doesn't even heal at all.

Meanwhile, the girl in the poster is described as a young mutant. Mutant births are severely in decline in 2024, for reasons that no one really understands. As for Charles Xavier a.k.a. Professor X, who is once again portrayed by Patrick Stewart, he is old and can't properly control his telekinetic power. He struggles to even remember Logan. Helping Logan to take care of Professor X is Caliban, an albino mutant who will be portrayed by Stephen Merchant.

The story will also involve a government-type operation called "Transigen" whose goal is turning mutant children, including the girl whose hand is in the poster, into killing machines. Logan ends up taking the girl, who is described as having two claws instead of three, under his wing.

Directed by James Mangold from a screenplay written by "Green Lantern" scribe Michael Green, "Logan" will arrive in U.S. theaters on March 3, 2017. Other cast members include Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant and Elise Neal.
