A24 has released the first trailer for Adam Smith's "Trespass Against Us", which premiered at the Toronto International Film Fest on September 9. It features two-time Oscar-nominee Michael Fassbender who portrays Chad Cutler, part of a ruthless criminal led by his father, Colby (Brendan Gleeson).

In the newly-released video, Chad is seen trying to find a way out of the family's legacy of crime as he seems not too keen for his young son Tyson (Georgie Smith) to follow in his footsteps. One scene shows him asking his son to do his homework even though he never attended school himself.

Another scene features his wife (Lindsey Marshal) telling him, "I can't live like this no more, I can't do it. I've had enough." She notes, "You did say we weren't living with your dad forever Chad." Meanwhile, his dad is convinced the family enterprise will continue. "You pass it down from father to son. Father, son, grandson," Colby says.

"Trespass Against Us" will be screened at the San Diego Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival on September 30 and October 14 respectively. The crime drama debuts exclusively on DirecTV on November 24 ahead of its limited release early next year.
