Shawn Mendes releases music video for his third promotional single off his "Illuminate" album, "Mercy". The Jay Martin-directed video cuts back-and-forth between two scenes showing Shawn getting trapped in a sinking car and playing music instruments crazily in an empty room.

"Would you please have mercy on me/ I'm a puppet on your string/ And even though you got good intentions/ I need you to set me free/ Would you please have mercy, mercy on my heart," he sings.

As the intensity of the song rises, Shawn is seen pushing over a drum kit and smashing an acoustic guitar. Near the end of the video, the 18-year-old Canadian singer/songwriter breaks the car's window and manages to escape.

Shawn's second studio album "Illuminate", also featuring tracks like "Treat Your Better", "Ruin", "Three Empty Words" and "Don't Be a Fool", is due out on Friday, September 23. He will embark on a world tour called "Illuminate World Tour" starting on April 27, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland. It is his first all-arena tour with 20 dates announced in Europe and 24 dates in North America.
