As production on Sony's "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" officially kicked off on Monday, September 19 in Hawaii, the first on-set image has surfaced online. Dwayne "The Rock Johnson shared on Instagram on Tuesday, September 20 the picture taken from the first day of filming, offering the first look at Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black's respective characters.

The four are seen sporting full jungle suits except for Gillan's character. " 'Moose Finbar' (Kevin Hart). 'Ruby Roundhouse' (Karen Gillan. Her jungle wardrobe will make sense when you know the plot. Trust me;)," the Rock explained in the caption. " 'Professor Shelly Oberon' (Jack Black). 'Dr. Smolder Bravestone' 'cause well.. he smolders."

"The journey continues," the former wrestler added. "Hard workin' and FUN first day of shooting in the jungle with this talented and crazy motley crew. Jack is brilliant, Karen is bad a**ery, Kevin is sharply hilarious and I smell good. Too funny. We're makin' a good one. More to come.. #JUMANJI #WishFulfillment #TheGameThatPlaysYou."

Said to be the continuation of the 1995 original pic, the new "Jumanji" film is directed by "Bad Teacher" helmer Jake Kasdan from a script provided by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers pen the original draft based on Chris Van Allsburg's Caldecott Medal-winning adventure book.

Also starring Nick Jonas, the movie is set for a July 28, 2017 release in U.S theaters.
