'It's a record about all of us....I would never use my song, or wanna use the public to hurt anyone that I love so much,' the Mother Monster says when asked if the song is about her ex-boyfriend.

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa has shut down speculation regarding her new song "Perfect Illusion". Since the lyrics include lines like "It wasn't love, it wasn't love/ It was a perfect illusion (Perfect illusion)/ Mistaken for love, it wasn't love/ It was a perfect illusion (Perfect illusion)/ You were a perfect illusion," fans were speculating that the song is about her ex-fiance Taylor Kinney.

Speaking to Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM radio show on Monday, September 12, GaGa addressed the issue as she said, "It's sort of the elephant in the room about 'Perfect Illusion': Like, 'Is it about Taylor?' is what everyone's wondering." She then added, "I just want to say...I love Taylor so, so much, and this song is not a hit out against Taylor. He's my best friend."

So, who is the song really about? The 30-year-old singer/songwriter explained, "This song is just about, I'm sure, not only the feelings I've had, that he's had, that my friends have had, that my sister has in her relationship. It's a record about all of us. And I would never use my song or want to use the public to hurt anyone that I love so much."

When Cohen likened GaGa and Kinney's split to Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's "conscious uncoupling," the "Bad Romance" hitmaker responded, "I don't know if I would even say it that way. I don't think we've un-anything. We're just two people figuring it out."

Also on Monday, GaGa teased her collaboration with Florence Welch called "Hey Girl" when visiting Elvis Duran's radio show on New York's Z100. "The lyrics of it in the beginning, I say 'Hey girl, can you hear me?/ Are you holding out your heart?' " she revealed. "And then she sings to me 'Hey girl, do you feel me?/ Sometimes I go too far.' And I say 'Hey girl, it ain't easy/ I know it's pulling me apart/ Hey girl, don't you leave me/ Hey girl, don't you leave me/ Hey girl, hey girl, we can make it easy if we lift each other/ We don't need to keep on one-upping one another.' "

GaGa hasn't announced a release date for her fifth album yet, but it's expected to arrive within 2016.
