The popular segment from the 'Late Late Show with James Corden' will pit four celebrity guests against each other.

AceShowbiz - "Drop the Mic", the viral bit from CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden", has just been picked up by TBS. The James Corden celebrity rap battle gets a 16-episode series order for a 2017 lineup. The new show is expected to combine music and comedy.

The series will pit four celebrities against each other in a rap battle. Each winner's winner will be chosen by the studio audience. It will be executive produced by Corden along with "Late Late Show" producer Ben Winston, Jensen Karp, and former battle rapper Hot Karl. Host will be announced later.

"Drop the Mic is such an exciting show, and we can't wait to begin making it," Winston said. "Every time we have done this segment on The Late Late Show, it has become a massive viral moment. Now with TBS as our perfect partner, we hope to create some really memorable television."

"Drop the Mic" is not the only "Late Late Show" segment that gets its own series. Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" was recently picked up by Apple Music. It also inspired Spike TV's "Caraoke Showdown" hosted by Craig Robinson.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon's "Lip Sync Battle" found a home at Spike TV after gaining popularity on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". The celebrity lip sync show is now hosted by LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen.
