The first look at Morgan (Lennie James) on "The Walking Dead" season 7 has been revealed. While there has been speculation over who died at the hands of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in the season 6 finale, Morgan is confirmed to be healthy and alive in the new season.

In the picture shared by EW, Morgan is back with his trusty pole after he got helped by two armored soldiers, likely hailing from The Kingdom, a community of survivors run by King Ezekiel who resides in an abandoned high school nearby.

Exec producer Greg Nicotero says, "The exciting thing about season 7 is we're really opening it up. We started in season 6 by getting a sense that the world was a much larger place. We were laying the seeds for the fact that there is a very big world out there. So, in season 7, we really get a chance to explore those worlds in much greater detail."

Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, previously told ComicBook.com of the new season, "There's different worlds now. There's different characters. There's a change of power on the show. Negan coming in has flipped our whole script so to speak. We are no longer the Alpha right now. It's a new world. It's a new, dangerous world in a different way now."

When asked if Negan would turn into a good guy, Norman replied, "No. He's just pure evil."

The seventh season of "The Walking Dead" premieres on AMC on Sunday, October 9.
