AceShowbiz - "Finding Dory" has made a gigantic splash at the box office. The sequel to "Finding Nemo" set a new record for an opening weekend by an animated movie with an estimated $136.2 million. It's also the only animated movie to crack the overall list of top 20 openings, ranking No. 18.
"Finding Dory", featuring the voice of %cEllen DeGeneres%, %cAlbert Brooks% and %cHayden Rolence%, also grossed around $50 million overseas, bringing its global total up to around $186.2 million. It replaced the previous animated weekend record holder "Shrek the Third", which debuted to $121.6 million in 2007.
%cThe Rock% and %cKevin Hart%'s "Central Intelligence" came in second place with an estimated $34.5 million. Overseas, the action-comedy earned around $6.8 million for a total world bow of $41.3 million.
"The Conjuring 2" nabbed the third place with an estimated $15.6 million. "Now You See Me 2" was placed No. 4, earning around $9.7 million. Video game-based "Warcraft", meanwhile, rounded out the top five with an estimated $6.5 million.
