The 'Purple Rain' hitmaker passes away a week after his plane made an emergency landing and he was hospitalized.

AceShowbiz - Music industry is mourning the loss of one of its icons, Prince. According to TMZ, the singer was found dead in his estate in Minnesota. Authorities reportedly responded to a medical emergency at his Paisley Park studio on Thursday morning, April 21.

The cause of his death is still unclear. Police are still investigating his passing but the "Purple Rain" hitmaker was briefly hospitalized last week after his private plane made an emergency landing. His camp claimed back then that he battled a bout of flu.

The singer was back home in Minnesota following the incident. He showed up a Paisley Park party on Saturday to play down speculations about his health. He didn't sing but assured fans that he was OK, "Wait a few days before you waste any prayers."
Prince was 57. He performed his final show in Atlanta on April 14. Rumor has it, the concert was originally scheduled to take place on April 7 but got postponed due to illness.
