Joe Giudice got his first prison visit from his beloved wife Teresa Giudice this weekend. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star went to Fort Dix in New Jersey on Friday, April 15, almost four weeks since her husband began his 41-month prison sentence.
An insider said that Teresa was very happy to finally be able to see Joe. "She was so happy to see him," the source told PEOPLE. "It was a very emotional visit." It was also said that Joe was "doing well," but he really missed his wife and his daughters.
Initially, the mother of four was not permitted to visit Joe in prison. "Teresa will be visiting with the girls as quickly as she is approved by the prison," family attorney James J. Leonard Jr. said last week.
The possible reasons behind the disapproval were probably the rules of her supervised release. Teresa was released from the Federal Correctional Institution on December 23 last year, but she had to serve house arrest until February 5.
Joe started serving his 41-month prison sentence on March 23. The punishment came after he pled guilty to tax fraud. After he is released, Joe may be forced to leave the country as he is not a U.S. citizen, but he previously said that he didn't worry about it.
