The 'Lord of the Rings' star is set to portray someone from the main character Danny Rand aka Iron Fist's past.

David Wenham, famous for his roles in "The Lord of the Rings" movies and "300", is making a transition to small screen. The actor has signed up to star on Netflix's "Marvel's Iron Fist", joining Finn Jones who was cast as the titular character last month.
Wenham is set to play a comic book character named Harold Meachum. Described as a ruthless corporate leader, Harold was partners with the parents of Danny Rand aka Iron Fist at the time of their deaths. The role he plays in Danny's past and future will be revealed over the course of the series.
The show follows Danny returning to New York City after he has been missing for years. He will fight against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
"Game of Thrones" star Jessica Henwick was recently announced to portray Colleen Wing, a martial arts expert who runs her own dojo and is an important ally to the titular character.
