"The Wolverine 3" is moving forward with the casting of Boyd Holbrook. The "Narcos" star has signed up to be the main villain in the third installment of the solo Wolverine movie series, joining Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart.

According to Deadline, Holbrook will play a relentless, calculating and intense head of security for a global enterprise who is set against Jackman's clawed Wolverine/Logan. It's an original character that has not appeared in any of the comic books.

Holbrook's negotiation to star in the pic went on pretty fast and was just completed for a May start date. The film is scheduled for release March 3, 2017.

Plot of the "X-Men" spin-off is yet known. David James Kelly writes the script with "The Wolverine" helmer James Mangold set to direct. Stewart will reprise his role as Professor Xavier Charles. Jackman said last year that this would be his last movie as the mutant.
