Dawn isn't coming anytime soon on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". The sitcom is staying on FXX for at least the next three years with two more season pick-up which was announced by the cable channel on Friday, April 1.

The two-season renewal will bring the show to season 14. The series had been previously renewed for a 12th season which is set to debut in early 2017. With the latest renewal, the show is set to tie "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" as the longest-running live-action comedy in television history.

"If anyone doubts the power of a camcorder and a dream, just look at 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia', which was a DIY backyard pilot when Rob (McElhenney), Charlie (Day) and Glenn (Howerton) brought it to FX and will go down in TV history as one of the most loved and enduring comedies," said FX Networks and FX Productions Original Programming President Nick Grad. "Few shows make it this far or have such devoted fans, and we owe it all to the creative vision and great humor of the creators and cast who keep 'Sunny' fresh and inventive every season."

"It's Always Sunny" premiered on FX in 2005 and moved to its sister channel FXX for its ninth season in 2013. The 11th season averaged 1.1 million viewers in the coveted 18-49 demo and 1.4 million total viewers, up 8|percent| and 13|percent| respectively from the previous season, according to Nielsen live-plus-seven ratings.
