Surprise, surprise! Promising to reveal the twin, "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 finale has not just one but a lot of jaw-dropping twists. The episode titled "Hush, Hush, Sweet Liars" begins with uber A's response after Hanna claimed that she killed Charlotte.
[SPOILER ALERT!] "If you're lying, I shoot all of you," the stalker texts back to Hanna. The stalker agrees to meet and they are all convinced that uber A is Sara Harvey.
Alison is back at home after her accident. While she's alone, she awakes from a nap to the sound of a music box playing upstairs. She envisions her dead mother watching her in the bedroom and later receives a phone call from someone sounding like Mrs. DiLaurentiis asking, "Did you miss me?"
Emily comes to comfort the frightened Alison. Emily thinks it's a side effect from painkillers, but someone is watching them from outside the house. When Alison goes to sleep again, she has a nightmare of Detective Wilden wrapping his arm around her. Spencer and Toby are at the Radley hotel which was once a sanitarium to find out what secrets Sara's hiding there. Toby's girlfriend Yvonne is angry that he helps Spencer without telling him. Despite bonding with her ex, Spencer tells Caleb for the first time that she loves him, but he doesn't say it back.
Aria confesses to Emily that she wrote her parts in Ezra's book about her feelings for him. Emily loves it and so does Jillian. Aria then comes to Ezra's place to tell him about Jillian's positive feedbacks. Overcome by her excitement, she kisses Ezra, who kisses her back. They end up sleeping together.
On election night, Ali is missing. Emily is looking for her and finds her in the church where Charlotte died. Ali says she needs help and voluntarily checks herself into psychiatric treatment at the same place where Charlotte had been held.
Caleb sets a trap for Sara at the Lost Woods motel with Hanna's help. Inside the motel, they talk about the night they broke up in New York. Hanna told Caleb, "I never stopped loving you," and they kiss. Their sweet reunion is interrupted when they hear Ezra's voice.
At the same time, Toby and Spencer break into the secret room at Radley. Mona unexpectedly appears in the same room. They find old medical records for a woman named Mary Drake, who turns out to be Charles' real mother. Charles was adopted and Alison apparently has no idea about this.
Caleb, Ezra and Aria leave Hanna inside the motel room where she will meet uber A. When the three return, Hanna is gone. Veronica wins the senate race and Spencer receives a call informing her that Hanna is missing.
In the final minutes, it's revealed that Wilden is Elliot and Mary Drake is Mrs. DiLaurentis' twin. Charlotte and Elliott were in love and he has been using Alison for whatever he's planning against Alison and her friends.
As they watch footage from surveillance cameras that Caleb had installed, they see someone who looks like Mrs. D by the fence. The Liars receive a text which reads, "Thanks for giving me Hanna. You're free to go. - A.D." Someone is seen dragging Hanna's body to the church bell tower. And two big questions are still unsolved: Who is A.D. and who killed Charlotte?
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ashley Benson coyly addressed Hanna's fate. "Let's hope that Hanna's okay!" she said last week while promoting Buxom Cosmetics at Ulta Beauty in Los Angeles. "That's all I can say. Let's hope that she's alive and doing well. It's questionable at this point."
While she claimed she had no idea what would happen next in season 7, Benson shared her hope for her character. "I hope for Haleb to get back together and then hope Hanna is alive," she said. "Haleb being my number one."
