Movie

Producer Charles Roven reveals that the superhero, who will get his own movie in 2020, may or may not be featured in 'Justice Leage Part Two'.

AceShowbiz - Following the film's flop a few years ago, not much has been heard of "Green Lantern". The superhero will definitely return to the DC Extended Universe, but it seems like fans will have to wait for a long time until it happens.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", producer Charles Roven revealed that Green Lantern wouldn't make appearance before "Justice League Part Two". The wait may be even longer.

"Every beat of the movie is not yet worked out. So there's the possibility that he may or may not be in 'Justice League 2'," Roven explained. "For now, we felt that we were introducing enough characters that the best possible place we could put 'Green Lantern' is some introduction in 'Justice League 2', or barring that, a movie after."

The original "Green Lantern" movie came out in 2011, staring %cRyan Reynolds% as the titular character. Warner Bros. executive Greg Silverman admitted that the film wasn't great. "[Green Lantern] is an incredible character. He's actually multiple incredible characters. There's real opportunity there. We didn't do a great job on that first 'Green Lantern' movie," he said.

"This is a character who deserves to be treated in the same way that Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman are being treated now, which is with great reverence. I guess I can say to the Green Lantern fans: if they can be patient with us, I think they'll be really happy," he added.

A reboot titled "Green Lantern Corps" is scheduled for release in the U.S. on June 19, 2020. %cHal Jordan% and %cJohn Stewart% will reportedly be featured in the project, though nothing official has been confirmed so far. "Justice League 2", meanwhile, is due out on June 14, 2019.
