AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey and her new fiance James Packer made their first red carpet appearance since they got engaged just one week ago. The couple seemed to be going strong as they couldn't keep their hands off each other while attending the G'day USA Gala at Vibiana in Los Angeles on Thursday, January 28.
The pair were all smiles while posing for photographers on the red carpet. Carey wore a simple sparkling floor-length dress which flaunted her enviable figure, while Packer opted for a dapper look wearing a black suit atop a white shirt. Though the "Hero" singer wore minimal makeup and let her straight hair flow naturally, she looked stunning. Also stealing people's attention was her huge 35-carat engagement ring, which was reportedly worth $8 million.
Packer proposed to Carey back on January 21 during a private dinner with close friends at Eleven Madison Park in New York City. The two, who have been friends for years, were finally engaged after eight months of dating. The couple reportedly will not have a prenuptial agreement because Carey "has convinced him that there is really no need to even have one to begin with."
Despite the engagement, both Carey and Packer are not yet divorced from their exes. Carey is still married to Nick Cannon, while James is still married to Erica Packer.
