The 'Modern Family' star claimed that the beauty company used her name and likeness without her permission to promote its products through multiple advertising materials.

AceShowbiz - Sofia Vergara filed a $15 million lawsuit against Venus Concept in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, January 25. The "Modern Family" actress sued the beauty company after she accused it of using her image in their advertising materials without permission.

According to court documents, the 43-year-old actress claimed that Venus Concept also used her name and likeness to promote its skin tightening massage treatment, which she used in 2014. The lawsuit stated, "Vergara tried the Legacy treatment, but ultimately did not like it, finding that it was a waste of time and money with little in the way of any results."

It also stated that "[Vergara] would not use it again, and certainly would not endorse it nor agree to appear in an international advertisement campaign to promote it," and she didn't "recommend the Venus Legacy product or services." The company allegedly used Vergara's name to promote the product at exhibition booths, trade shows and on the internet.

Vergara was first linked to the beauty company just before the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards in August 2014. She used the Venus Legacy machine before she attended the event and posted a WhoSay photo during the treatment. In the photo, the Latina beauty lied prone on a bed with a therapist rubbing her back using the machine. "What is so funny Marilyn?? Legacy massage at @drlancerrx," she captioned the photo.

According to Joe Manganiello's wife, this is not the first time that she has battled with the company over similar matter. She revealed that she had made "repeated demands" to stop the company from using her image and name.
