Natalie Cole will be laid to rest on Monday, January 11 in Los Angeles. A funeral will be held for the Grammy Award-winning singer at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ where Cole was once a member. Chaka Khan is expected to sing at the funeral.

Cole will be buried among her family at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale. Her mother Maria Hawkins Cole died in July 2012 and was laid next to her father, the legendary singer Nat King Cole, at the Forest Lawn. Her sister and brother were also buried there.

Cole died on Thursday, December 31 in a Los Angeles hospital at the age of 65. Her family said a week later that her cause of death was idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension, which led to heart failure. She received a kidney transplant in 2009 and was diagnosed with the rare lung disease which causes shortness of breath and chest pain.

"(Cole) responded well to pulmonary arterial hypertension-specific agents over many years, during which she performed many concerts world-wide, but eventually succumbed to intractable right heart failure, an outcome that unfortunately commonly occurs in this progressive disorder," the statement released via the AP read.

Cole was supposed to perform on the days leading to her death but she canceled them all for health reasons.
