August Alsina celebrated the release of his album "This Thing Called Life" by sharing a music video for one of its cuts. The R&B singer dropped on Friday, December 11 the emotional "Song Cry" visuals, which starts with him getting stranded in the desert before a string of weird moments appear on the screen.

From the desert, Alsina takes viewers to a motel room where he spends the night sitting alone on his bed as rose petals fall to the floor and a ballerina dances alone under the pouring rain outside. Later, he's seen standing in front of a burning casket and crying tears of blood.

"It's my reality on wax," Alsina explained the Payne Lindsey-directed music video in an email to The Fader. "I wanted the video to be more abstract and take me to a place visually where I haven't been before."

"This Thing Called Life" is available everywhere now. Earlier this week, the album was made available to stream on Vevo ahead of its release day, prompting Alsina to unleash a Twitter rant against his label Def Jam. However, he apologized to the label a few hours later via an Instagram post.

"My 'F**k You' tweet came from a place of frustration," he said. "I can't express to you how much hard work was poured into this album, its presentation & roll out so for it to be leaked because of careless mistakes hurts me to the core."

He added, "I have a great deal of respect for my Def-Jam family, but I hate the disappointment my album leaking has caused my fans. I hope this letter provides a better understanding of where I'm coming from."
