James Corden unleashed his inner country star during the latest edition of the fan-favorite Carpool Karaoke. The talk show host welcomed Carrie Underwood and teamed up with the country diva for dramatic renditions of her hits while they're driving through the Los Angeles streets in his Range Rover.
Airing during the Wednesday night, December 2 episode of Corden's "Late Late Show", the segment featuring Underwood opened with the two belting out her "Smoke Break" off her latest album "Storyteller". They then did "Jesus Take the Wheel" and Corden took his hands off the wheel. "Look, it's happened! I think Jesus' taking the wheel," the comedian told his guest.
The two later chatted about what he'd need to be a country star. "Boots are the roots," said Underwood, who then helped Corden pick a pair of boots and a cowboy hat at a western-wear store. During their trip, the duo also belted "Before He Cheats" and covered Wham!'s "Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go)" after she said she knew every lyric to every song from the group.
