The new planets in the Star Wars galaxy are D'Qar, Hosnian Prime and the one rumored to be the setting of an epic battle, Takodana.

AceShowbiz - A new official map of the Star Wars galaxy has been unveiled ahead of the movie's theatrical release. The map reveals the name and location of three new planets which will appear in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

The three new planets joining Tatooine, Endor, Naboo and the already-revealed desert planet of Jakku are Takodana, D'Qar and Hosnian Prime. Takodana is reported to be the setting where one of the film's major battle scenes takes place while D'Qar is said to be a Resistance base.

The map also shows that the Starkiller base, the planet-sized headquarters of the First Order, is located in an unknown region. The map will be included in the upcoming book from DK Books entitled "Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary" and it made its print debut in this week's special issue of Empire magazine.

"The Force Awakens" is set 30 years after the Battle of Ender at the end of "Return of the Jedi". It brings back Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Carrie Fisher as Leia.

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson and Andy Serkis are also in the lineup. The seventh episode of "Star Wars" movie series is slated for a U.S. release on December 18.
