Blake Shelton is announced as a host for the next Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards which will air March 12, 2016. The country music singer broke the news on "Today" show during a sit-down with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford.
"My agent called and was like, 'Is there anything you can think of that you'd want to do?'... And I actually had been thinking I want to host those Kids' Choice Awards, I want to do it," he said. "And she was like, 'Uhhhh ... Okay.' I wanna do this thing with kids. It's fun. I wanna get slimed."
In a promotional video obtained by Billboard, "The Voice" judge is showered with green goo while sitting on his spinning chair. "Woohoo," he says, grinning from ear to ear while being covered with the slime. "This feels nice."
Before the announcement, Shelton teased on Twitter, "Just when things were about to quiet down around here... I've got something BIG to announce tomorrow. #shocking #staytuned." He added, "No chance y'all are gonna guess this one. It's just WAY too insane..."
